It was listed in the Oregonian for sale at $3,050. I had called and luckily was one of the first to call. I normally looked through the Oregonian for Chevelles for sale during my lunch breaks at work. I recall there were several of them, but this one seemed unbutchered. Ken, the seller provided me his address in Sherwood, after work that same day I got lost trying to find their house and ended up being 45 minutes late. I had to find a phone to call them to reiterate the address to me again. Once there they had the Chevelle sitting outside. Ken and Shirley were the original owners and bought it new from Carr Chevrolet in Beaverton. It was on the lot and they chose it, the only upgrades they made shortly after they brought it home was to change the wheels out to rally wheels. Ken also added the wheel opening trim at the same time. The Chevelle was garaged most of the time or sat under their car port when they lived in a mobile home. They had two kids that grew up in the car, he mentioned kid's car seats in the front seat, and that’s why the fabric seat was torn. Ken used it to get to work and occasionally they drove it to Reno often. It was their daily driver until 1990. Then they randomly drove it here and there. When they bought the Chevelle each of them paid for half, and when I bought it they each took half of the purchase price. They didn’t have much paper work to go along with the sale but it did have the original issue 1970 title. It took me a few weeks to get all the funds together. We picked it up a few weekends later and I drove it home to my one car garage in Salem. I was able to borrow a space in my father in laws barn for a few weeks until I found other storage arrangements It drove and still drives great, no rattles, nothing is loose and you can kind of sink into the seats as you round the corners. Other than maintenance, I have never really made any upgrades. I did come across a mint interior front and rear seat in the same pattern and color that I swapped in. Eventually I would like to get it repainted.
